Healthy and Portable Snacks

Snacking is a great way to get some needed nutrients, keep your hunger in check and keep you from overeating the next time you sit down to a meal.

 

Make the most out of your snacks by choosing healthy, colorful options. Bring them with you as you tackle your day to prevent making poor eating decisions out of pure hunger.

 

Read below for snacks that travel well. Included are snacks that are colorful, crunchy or a little sweet for those that have a sweet tooth.

 

Baby carrots and a scoop of peanut butter

Baked bagel chips

Baked pita chips

Blueberries

Broccoli and fat free dressing (keep cool when traveling)

Cauliflower and fat free dressing (keep cool)

Celery sticks and hummus (keep cool for optimum flavor)

Grapes

Half a sandwich

Low Fat yogurt (keep cool)

Low fat, crunchy cookies

Pretzels and a few semi-sweet chocolate chips

Raisins

Red or green bell pepper (julienne) and fat free dressing (keep cool)

Strawberries

Walnuts (unsalted)

Whole wheat crackers and string cheese
